THE SPACE
Welcome to The Alexandria Loft – your 656-square-foot sanctuary in Old Town’s most iconic building. This thoughtfully designed one-bedroom loft blends authentic 1800s character with modern luxury, creating the perfect retreat for couples exploring historic Alexandria.
THE LIVING AREA
Step inside to discover an open-concept space where floor-to-ceiling exposed brick walls immediately captivate. These aren’t decorative brick facades – these are the original 1800s structural walls of this historic building, showcasing natural variations in color, texture, and the patina of time. Soaring ceilings with exposed industrial ductwork (painted a warm copper tone as a design feature) amplify the loft’s distinctive industrial-chic aesthetic.
The living area features a comfortable seating arrangement perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring Old Town. A Smart TV is ready for streaming your favorite shows, and the open layout creates an airy, spacious feel despite the loft’s cozy footprint.
Natural light fills the space from windows facing a quiet side street – you’re steps from King Street’s energy but tucked away from the noise for peaceful mornings and restful nights.
THE KITCHEN
The modern kitchen proves you don’t have to sacrifice functionality for character. White shaker cabinets and stainless steel appliances create a clean, contemporary counterpoint to the vintage brick. The kitchen island doubles as a breakfast bar with seating for three – perfect for morning coffee or a casual dinner in.
You’ll find everything you need to prepare meals:
– Full-size refrigerator
– Gas range/oven
– Microwave
– Dishwasher
– Coffee maker
– Toaster
– Quality cookware, utensils, and dinnerware
– Basic pantry staples (oil, salt, pepper, coffee filters)
THE BEDROOM
Your private retreat features exposed brick on three walls – yes, three walls of authentic 1800s brick creating a dramatic, romantic backdrop. The queen bed is dressed in quality linens, and blackout curtains ensure you can sleep in as late as you’d like. A spacious closet provides plenty of room for your belongings.
The bedroom windows face the same quiet side street as the living area, so you’ll wake to soft morning light rather than street noise.
THE BATHROOM
The full bathroom features a classic tub/shower combination – perfect for a relaxing soak after walking Old Town’s cobblestone streets. Fresh towels, a hair dryer, and essential toiletries are provided.
IN-UNIT LAUNDRY
A rare amenity in Old Town’s historic buildings: your own stacked washer and dryer right in the unit. Pack light knowing you can freshen up your wardrobe anytime. Detergent pods are provided.
FIRST FLOOR LOCATION
This unit is located on the first floor of the building. While there are stairs at the main entrance to reach the lobby, once inside you’re immediately at your door – no climbing multiple flights in this historic building without an elevator. If you’re traveling with your dog, you’ll appreciate the relatively quick access for outdoor breaks compared to upper-floor units.
YOUR DOG IS WELCOME
We’re proud to be dog-friendly (maximum 1 dog, 50 lbs or under, $75 pet fee). Old Town is exceptionally welcoming to four-legged visitors:
– The waterfront promenade is perfect for morning and evening walks
– Dozens of restaurants offer dog-friendly patio seating
– Founders Park and Waterfront Park are nearby for off-leash play
– Pet stores and a vet are within walking distance
We provide dog bowls, waste bags, and a list of our favorite dog-friendly patios in the digital guidebook.
THE BUILDING
You’re staying in one of Old Town Alexandria’s most recognized landmarks. This 1800s building anchors a prominent corner and features a striking street art mural that’s become one of the most photographed spots in the neighborhood. The ground floor houses a boutique retail shop, adding to the building’s vibrant, artistic character.
